About

Birger Brodin investigates the role of drug transport proteins in drug ADME. He focuses on the blood-brain barrier and how transporters influence drug uptake into the CNS. The research group is working with primary cell culture modes of the blood-brain barrier. These lab-grown artificial blood brain barriers are used to examine whether drugs can penetrate the blood brain barrier, and if not, the reason for the lack of permeation.
