Microtubule (MT) assembly and dynamics are required during cell cycle progression and plant development. TPX2, Rae1 and GIPs have been characterized as regulators of MT assembly; their functions lead to controlled cell growth and cell fate, including chromosome maintenance, karyokinesis and cytokinesis. Our aim is now to determine their activity at the molecular level and to establish an integrated view of the signalling cascades in which they act.
