However, as you say, it will take a while till these type of visualizations will become common. Am not sure that the research per se will survive in the conditions that most policies are putting on the universities at the moment.Following

[more]I agree to this reframing: "what will promote a more vibrant and healthy "innovation ecosystem", including social, technical, economic, and political aspects." and thanks for the references! My concern is that in most cases the policymakers do not really hear what the researchers have to say on the issue. Most of the governmental policies on innovation have a very different background as their ground base. The rationale in some cases is that research activities do not really contribute to the country's GDP or they do, but not enough. I am not sure that's a healthy metric.Following

I think that research and science has the main aim as to create innovation in the first place, so how come we forget that along the way and what we do becomes a routine?Following

Article: Operationalizing Balanced Time Perspective in a Swedish Sample
[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Past research suggests that biases in temporal orientation may have systematic effects on goal-directed behavior and that physical and mental well-being is associated with balanced time perspective (BTP, Zimbardo and Boyd, 1999). The aim of this study was to examine different operationalizations of the BTP, and to present an alternative proposal in which BTP is measured as a multidimensional, rather than a binary, construct. Two versions of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI) were administered to a sample of 502 individuals. The proposed operationalization shows important advantages in terms of ecological validity of the multidimensional definition, sample independency and possibility to adjust for country differences. Our proposal may also have practical implications both for individuals and groups, e.g. in working teams, psychological counseling, psychotherapy and when recruiting personal for leading positions. The International Journal of Educational and Psychological Assessment 2094-0734. 12/2012; 12(1):97-107. -

Article: CROSS-CULTURAL COMPARISON OF RUSSIAN AND GERMAN STUDENTS’ LEARNING MOTIVATION TRAITS
Alexander Porshnev, Hartmut Giest, Anna Sircova[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: The Integration of Russia into European educational space invoke many questions, one of them is a cross-cultural universality of learning motivation. In this paper we discuss the methodology of a learning motivation traits questionnaire and results of its cross-cultural validation at the sample of 332 German and 865 Russian students. In our study we found measurement invariance of intrinsic orientation, test anxiety and performance avoidance scales of Russian and German form of questionnaire. We showed also invariance of learning motivation traits structure. At the same time we found differences in extrinsic orientations of Russian and German students.Higher School of Economics Research Paper No. WP BRP. 01/2012; 5. -

Article: Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI): results of Russian version psychometrics analysis
Olga V. Mitina, Sircova Anna[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Assessment of the psychometrical features of the Russian version of Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory (ZTPI) was conducted on the sample of students (n=196; different specializations, from different cities across Russia). The following methods were used: Cronbachs alfa coefficient, test-retest, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis, correlation analysis. As a result Scales of the Inventory show good validity, internal consistency reliability and reproducibility. Factor structure of the Russian version of ZTPI is almost identical reproduction of the original Inventory factor structure. Convergent and discriminant validity was shown.Moscow University Psychology Bulletin ISSN 0201—7385. 10/2008; -

Article: Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory: A comparison across cultures
Sircova Anna, Olga V. Mitina[show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: The Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory has been already translated and adapted into many languages. Most of the ZTPI versions show the same five factor structure, but with some amendments in the inventory scales. Focus of the present study was to compare ZTPI results obtained in three countries: Russia, France and Spain. We used method of structured equation modeling to compare the structural models and the measured models (relations between the scales) of time perspective situation in each of these countries. Discussion of these differences pays attention on mentality factors (religion, social situation etc.). Correlations with other scales will include as factors of explanation of differences.International Journal of Psychology 07/2008; 43(3/4):43. · 0.40 Impact Factor
