Instead of taking things personal let`s look at these issues in a bigger picture. We are all in a same boat and if there are people who are making holes to the boat we are all going to sink. Disasters like Discovery had the same roots but we usually forget the past.Following

As someone who has 12 years of experience with US academic sy... [more]I would like to thank every one for their comments and participation on this discussion. As someone who has 12 years of experience with US academic system, I think I can bring this subject up for the benefit of all the research scientists. What really matters most is that by trusting the results published in top rated journals and taking them for granted one might loose a great deal of time or be lost in his/her research. In many cases it worth to take a little bit of more time and verify the result by yourself or make sure that a reference you are using is some thing verified by different sources. Actually Matteo is right, according to my observation the paper which was declined by Physica Status Solidi is published by Applied Physics Letter.Following

Therefore papers are published with falsified results and fabricated data. The offices of research misconduct are the body who should control these issues however the reputation of university and its departments will be underlined if they admit the case of misconduct. The physics department of University of North Texas is an explicit example of such case.Following
