My current research interests are in the field of quantum engineering and, in particular, quantum metamaterials. The latter can be defined as artificial optical media that exhibit the following properties: (1) they are comprised of quantum coherent unit elements with engineered parameters, (2) quantum states of these elements can be controlled, and (3) the whole structure can maintain global quantum coherence for a duration that exceeds the traversal time of a relevant electromagnetic signal.
