If we accept that financial inclusion is directly related to business’ outreach (this is widely accepted in microfinance for instance), measuring “financial ex-clusion” might require measuring the output not produced to prevent marginal costs of production from skyrocketing. That is to say, the fact that in the for-profit business world profitability beyond the coverage of costs of production is a prerequisite for investing, precludes some lines of production from being launched or expanded, leaving the poor excluded.Following
