Article: IN SILICO SCREENING OF CHEMICAL COMPOUNDS FROM SWEET FLAG (ACORUS CALAMUS L) AS α-GLUCOSIDASE INHIBITOR
    Dewi Yuliana, Mursalin, Ahmad Najib
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Research have been conducted screening in silico chemical compound inhibitor α-glucosidase from plants dringo (Acorus calamus L) based on the binding site (binding site) are owned by some of the compounds obtained respectively from the inhibition of enzyme / receptor (docking) using the program Argus Lab. Model of the enzyme α-glucosidase was obtained through the protein data bank with the code 1lwj in the donwload NCBI website. Models of chemical compounds contained in dringo (A. Calamus L) obtained through the site Take out "jamu" Knapsack and made in the formula structures of 2D and 3D using the program ACD / Chemsketch. Docking results showed activity in the compound 1-ethenyl-1-methyl-2,4-at (prop-1-en-2-yl) Cyclohexane with free energy - 8.04385 kcal / mol, and the compound Isocaespitol with a free energy - 8.28388 kcal / mol

Article: Isolation and identification of antibacterial compound from diethyl ether extract of Plantago major L
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Plantago major L. is a plant of the Plantaginaceae family which has been investigated on diethyl ether extract generate active spot as an antibacterial. The aim of the investigation was to identify the antibacterial compound from diethyl ether extract of daun sendok. as much 500 gram material was extracted maceration method was obtained 50 gram methanol extract, continued by partition with diethyl ether obtained 19.5 gram dried extract, the extract diethyl ether which isolated by suction column chromatography obtained 3 fractions (F1, F2 and F3). The third fraction (F3) was isolated by column chromatography obtained 2 fractions (3-1 and 3-2). The 3-1 active fraction (inhibit the Escherichia coli) isolated by preparative-TLC obtained 2 compounds. Compound 1 was active, single spot and visualization with Lieberman-Buchard and vanillin-sulfate acid. It have a steroid compound.

  • Conference Proceeding: Comparative Study of β-Asarone Concentration in Acorus calamus L. Between Rhizoma and Folium Using TLC-Densitometry Method
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Comparative study of β-Asarone concentration in Acorus calamus L. between rhizoma and folium usng TLC-Densitometry method. The aim of study to determine concentration of β-Asarone in Acorus calamus L. rhizoma and folium by TLC-Densitometri. Rhizoma and folium of Acorus calamus L. was extracted by maceration methode using n-hexane. Profile TLC of standard and sample with eluent n-hexane:ethyl acetate (8 : 2). TLC plate scaned with TLC-Densitometry at maximum wavelength 313 nm. Ratio of β-Asarone between Rhizoma and Folium is 1 : 0.58. Rhizoma content 2743.49 µg/µl and folium content is 1593.63 µg/µl.

Conference Proceeding: Radical scavenging activity of diethyl eter fraction from Black Cummin seed ( Nigella saliva Linn.) using DDPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-Picryl Hydrazyl)
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: This research aimed to determine the radical scavenging activity of Black Cummin seed base on the binding of free radical DPPH. The research conducted on tes radical scavenging activity of black cummin seed (Nigella sativa Linn.) compare with vitamin C and BHT as the radical scavenging agent. One kilogram of black cummin seed is exracted by masceration using methanol, had a radical scavenging activity with IC50 value 83.371 mg/mL. Dry methanol eract was partitioned with solid0liquid partition, using dyethyl ether and then tested for activity, obtained radical scavenging with IC50 value 232.56 mg/mL. Diethyl ether fraction isolated by suction column chromatography method using chloroform:methanol (20:6, 15:6 and 10:6), 100 mL obtained 4 fraction, then the test radical scavenging was conducted and IC50 values determined. The first fraction is the most active with IC50 153.20 mg/mL. Isolation with preparative thin layer chromatography method on first fraction using chloroform:methanol (15:6) resulting an isolate with IC50 values 38.37 mg/ML. We conclude that the isolate from diethyl ether fraction from balck cummin seed (Nigella ativa Linn.) have high potency as a radical scavenging agent

Article: In Vitro Bioassay of n-buthanol Isolate of Acorus calamus L. on Inhibitory of Activity α-Glucosidase
Ahmad Najib, Sri Hartati, Berna Elya
    [show abstract] [hide abstract]
ABSTRACT: Compound existence at one particular plant extract ingredient that has ability to inhibitory α-glucosidase enzyme, give a chance to develop a natural medicine in the effort therapy of diabetic. This aim of study to see effectivity of n-buthanol isolate from plants Acorus calamus L. on inhibitory α -glucosidase enzyme. Extraction done with masceration method use methanol. The gummy methanol extract followed by partition using n-heksan, ethyl acetate and n-butanol. The n-buthanol extract isolate using column chromatography method with stationer phase is resin diaion hp 20 and eluent ethanol: water in various concentration, isolation result is got 5 fraction. In each fraction was assayed for inhibitory activity on α-glucosidase enzyme. The potential inhibition effect was got in 5th fraction and from purified process using column chromatography method with stationer phase is silica gel and eluent dichloromethane : methanol 95:5 was got ACB as active compound with IC50 17.89 μg/ml. This result shows that plants Acorus calamus L. has a potency to develop upon which diabetes therapy.
