Question

welcome

Hello, Dear friends
Thank you for join this group.
Developing countries have lots of difficulties to solve their innovation system problems. You know, these systems in such countries are not really "system". They are fragmented and emerging ones and the system actors sometimes act in contrast. Economical and political context and "rules of the game" of these countries are very different from developed ones. There is not enough theories in innovation policy-making field useful and suitable for developing countries too.
But, if we know other's experiences and share them, we'll learn from them to solve our problems. So, feel free to share your experiences, opinions and ideas, interested publications and even problems. They all will be useful.

  • Hello Parisa,
I agree with your opinions. I believe that innovations are indespensible for developing countries. But as you mentioned it should be evolved from participatory process and all relevant stakeholders should be actively participated in its evolutionary process. I am particularly interested in innovations which can help improve the livelihood of the rural poor. You know that in rural communities, poor people have limited access to innovations which would enhance their productivity and assist in diversification of their livelihoods.
  • Hello, I am new to this website and I would like to appologise in advance if I am jumping in a discussion that ended or it is not my place to participate, but I believe that poor people, not only from rural areas, don't lack of access to innovations as much as they lack of access to information and educational resources that would give them the opportunity to innovate. So, what I am trying to say it's that the actual problem is the lack of information and the way that the little information that gets to these people is explained to them. My other concern is actually a question that i put to my self: Is there a real lack of access to information in rural areas or it is something made on purpose by active governments? Otherwise I really like this website:)

    Hello, dear Cardos,
Yes, you are right. the most important constraint for poor people is their capability to get information, somewhat because of education and somewhat because of lack of relationship with resources of information. I don't think it is the purpose of governments, but I think governments must be try to enhance the poor people's capabilities.

Basic research is needed , for example books of differential equations are freely available in internet but they cannot read them because they don't know calculus and why these tool is useful in order to get more growth..
