I am planning to conduct experiment with composite of different proportion of Si3N4 and hBN, to investigate the effect of proportion on tribological behaviour of composite. What should the design of experiment be?

    Your composite components should be specified as factors for the design of experiemnts. Then you need to categorize them. You can design your experiments as a mixture design of experiemnt. You will also specify the responses that you are after in your design of experiment.

    Yes Si3N4 and hBN will be factors. If these factors can be identified as continuous values in your mixture you can specify the low and high limits for them in your mixture and design of experiment software will pick values for them in this range. If they can not be identified as continuous values but can be specified as discrete values then you can categroize them as multi level and identify level 1, 2, 3, etc for each.
