Which antihypertensive drugs are the first choice therapy in black African with essential and uncomplicated high blood pressure?

Several lines of evidence showed that the pathophysiology of HBP in African originated patients is a low renin and some genetical/environmental factors can also play an important role.
On the other hand, we observe usually very high BP level and rapid progression to end target organ damages. However, it is very surprising that we do do not have much epidemiological data that could guide evidence-based recommendations specific to African populations. If someone has some data I would be very interested.
