    This can be done to obtain a certain effect, for instance, to adjust the on time with the objective of saving energy.
  • Duty cycle correction is used to avoid detection error in analog fronend circuit in digital systems. The voltage levels of "High" and "Low" correspond to "1" and "0" in positive logical signal, respectively. AC coupled circuit or DC coupled circuit with reference level are employed for detecting the voltage level. However, if duty cysle of input signal for the detector is not proper ratio, the detector output incorrect logical signal, e.g, for input = 010001, output = 00001. There are many cause of duty cycle mismatch, such as, properties mismatch between a pair of differential amplifier, DC bias voltage mismatch between a pair of differential amplifier's B-E and C-E, bias condition for laser devices, etc.
