Usage of Platinium and other co-catalyst for H2 production- costly affair
One important issue is, Pt usage in H2 Photocatalyst makes it less economic source for H2 technology- there should be other substitutes

but in-fact it can be used in very minute level in mg's, in which production cost is not going to be big wen compared to its Ultimate USE as co-catalysts. -

Now a team led by Daniel Nocera, at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has found a catalyst that uses cheap, abundant metals - cobalt and phosphorus - and works at an environmentally friendly neutral pH to release oxygen from water. Nocera says the system is not only far cheaper than platinum, but also an improvement on photosynthetic complexes in plants: 'We'll go beyond photosynthesis, because this catalyst you can just make in a glass of water.' -
Does someone have some information about this technology from Prof Nocera. I have seen photos and explications, but no numbers ofr conversion efficiency or hydorgen yiled?
