  TRIZ has indeed proven for many years its relevance both n research and industry. There are several conferences worldwide I would recommend : like ETRIA (Eurpean TRIZ Association) in late October or early november. If you would like more practical hands-on TRIZ there is also a recent software as a result of academia and industry work : www.time-to-innovate.com
