I am doing a thesis investigating different social determinants on the increase trend in hypertension prevalence, the impact of those possible social determinants and the inequality in urban society.

    Hi Tamara

There is a very recent publication in The Lancet about a huge study carried out in Scotland, showing that multimorbidity of chronic diseases affect most deprived people earlier (~10-15y) than most affluent ones. This is an example that social determinants increase the prevalence of chronic diseases differently among different soioeconomic strata. Despite the authors do not include hypertension especifically, prevalences of coronary heart disease and stroke are pointed out.
