Pharmacosomes are the colloidal dispersions of drugs covalently bound to lipids and may exist as ultrafine vesicular, micellar, or hexagonal aggregates, depending on the chemical structure of the drug–lipid complex.

Liposomes, ehtosomes, phytosomes, niospmes all are pharmacosomes but thet are differ in drug-lipid complex.

Liposomes, ehtosomes, phytosomes and niospmes are necessarily contains Lipid, ethanol, herbal drugs, and non-ionic surfactactants respectively.

Phytosomes (Phytosome®) is trade mark of INDENA (http://www.indena.it/). In India now people are now a days naming drug-lipid complex with different names some research work is done in Sagar/Jadhavpur/Mandsaur/Dharwad/CIMAP.
I suggest some more names Kinosome, Herbosome etc. Please look for basic Technique used in preparation of Novel Drug delivery in Herbal drugs. Giving new names or discussing various new names their diffreneces will create more confusion. What i feel is that in preparation of liposomes, phytosomes, pharmacosomes, herosome complex of lipid is prepared by using different ratio of drug content and preparation is done either by reverse evaporation technique or by trituration/sonification/ other complexation procedures. The only difference is that it should not be physical mixture and that is determined by IR/NMR/TEM/SEM/TGA / Titration methods etc. Not a single phytosomes from Indian research is in market though INDENA List of product is increasing with leaps and bounds.
