    ABSTRACT: In this study, we introduce a new type of null scrolls called slant null scrolls in Minkowski 3-space E_1^3 . We define three types of slant null scrolls called alpha -slant, beta-slant and gamma-slant null scrolls and give characterizations for a null scroll to be a slant null scroll. Moreover, for beta-slant null scrolls, we obtain some nonlinear differential equations and we give some results by using their analytical solutions. Finally, we give some examples for the obtained results.

    ABSTRACT: Antilock Braking Systems (ABSs) are brake controllers designed to maintain the wheel slip in desired level during braking and acceleration. Since the factors causing the wheel slip to change such as nature of road surface, vehicle mass etc are highly uncertain, the task of controlling has been a challenging one. In this paper, a modified PID controller called Set-Point Weighted PID (SPWPID) Controller has been designed to control the wheel slip. First, a Genetic Algorithm (GA) based fuzzy inference system (GAFSPWPID) is developed to determine the value of the weight that multiplies the set-point for the proportional action, based on the current output error and its derivative. It makes the controller more adaptive to external disturbances. Then, the GA is replaced by Firefly Algorithm (FA). Minimization of Integral Square Error (ISE) has been taken as objective for both cases. The performance of proposed Firefly Algorithm tuned Fuzzy Set-Point Weighted PID (FAFSPWPID) Controller is compared with SPWPID and GAFSPWPID controllers. Also, the performance of proposed controller is assessed for different initial conditions. A comparison has also been made with the controllers presented earlier in literature. Simulation results show that the proposed FAFSPWPID Controller performs better in both set-point tracking and adaptive to external disturbances than the other controllers.

    ABSTRACT: The present paper is concerned with the frictionless contact problem between two electroelastic bodies in a bidimensional context. We consider a mixed formulation in which the unknowns are the displacement field, the electric potential field and the contact pressure. We use the mixed finite element method to approximate the solutions. Error estimates are derived on the approximative solutions from which the convergence of the algorithm is deduced under suitable regularity conditions on the exact solution.     ABSTRACT: In this paper, we generalize the notions of helix and slant helix in dual space in a more general case such as the dual angle between a fixed dual unit vector and Frenet vectors of a dual curve is not constant. We study the motions of the lines corresponding to dual Frenet vectors and dual Frenet instantaneous rotation vector with respect to a fixed line. We obtain some characterizations for such dual curves and show that these characterizations include the definitions and characterizations of dual helix and dual slant helix in some special cases.

    ABSTRACT: In this research paper we study the problem of mutual exclusion in the context of wireless sensor and actor network (WSAN) and propose two novel approaches to solve it. The major requirements for any proposed approach in such context are: (1) the proposed approach must select the minimum number of actor nodes to act on the given event region, (2) the overlaps between acting ranges should be minimum, (3) wastage of resources should be less, and finally, whole event region must be covered by one or morethan one actors as per their applicability. We have proposed two algorithms,centralized prioritized h-out- of-k mutual exclusion algorithm(CPMEA), and distributed prioritized h-out-of-k mutual exclusion algorithm (DPMEA) in this research paper. Both proposed approaches construct an actor cover set with similar optimality. The simulation results show the performance in terms of size of actor cover set, overlapped region, non-overlapped region and maximum actor coverage degree. We have also compared our simulated results with previously proposed benchmark algorithms.

    ABSTRACT: In literature, there are several works on the theory and applications of integral transforms of Boehmian spaces, but fractional integral transforms of Boehmians have not yet been reported. In this paper, we investigate the fractional Sumudu transform of arbitrary order on some space of integrable Boehmians. The fractional Sumudu transform of an integrable Boehmian is well-defined, linear and sequentially complete in the space of continuous functions. Two types of convergence are also discussed in details.
