Texas State University-San Marcos invites applications for the position of department chair in the Department of Psychology. The chair is the chief academic, administrative and fiscal officer of

Texas State University-San Marcos is a doctoral-granting university located in the burgeoning Austin-San Antonio corridor, the largest campus in the Texas State University System, and among the
largest in the state. The Department of Psychology offers a B.A. and B.S. degree in Psychology and a M.A. in Health Psychology. The department has 1,282 undergraduate majors. It has 28 full-time

Required Qualification
- Earned doctorate in Psychology or closely related field and
- record of accomplishment in research, teaching, and service appropriate for appointment at the rank of tenured Associate Professor or Professor in the Department of Psychology.
Successful applicant will receive the appropriate rank based on university and department established standards.
Preferred Qualification
- Organizational and leadership qualities, abilities, and experience consistent with managing and supporting a growing department;
- Demonstrated capability for administrative organization and fiscal management;
- Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
