Research Adviser - PNG-Australia HIV and AIDS Program

This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Australian Government’s HIV program of support to Papua New Guinea. A Research Adviser is required to work at the national level supporting the implementation of the recently launched National Research Agenda for HIV and AIDS in partnership with the Research Coordination Unit under the National AIDS Council Secretariat.

Position Details
This role will support research capacity strengthening initiatives within PNG research institutions and universities and facilitate the strengthening of the research network. The role will also include the provision of technical and strategic advice to the NAC Secretariat Research Coordination Unit (RCU) and supporting the management of national research outcomes. The successful candidate will come with extensive research management experience in the academic, government or donor sector. An understanding of the social, cultural and political environment within Papua New Guinea, as well as knowledge of government and society structures, is preferable. The position comes with a competitive executive salary and allowances, and will be a 12 month contract with the option for extension.
