THE POSITION

Candidates are invited to apply for the position of Director of Molecular Biology. The successful candidate will provide managerial and scientific leadership to a large group responsible for gene cloning and recombinant protein expression in a diverse set of prokaryotic and eukaryotic hosts. The Director will work with scientists to develop and implement innovative approaches that assist and optimize the expression of a broad range of structurally and functionally diverse proteins. The Director will collaborate with multi-disciplinary downstream project teams to optimize and trouble-shoot recombinant protein production.

WHO YOU ARE

The position requires a Ph.D. in molecular biology, biochemistry or a related discipline and a minimum of 10 years experience with recombinant protein expression, preferably in a biotechnology R&D environment and a minimum of 5 years of managerial experience. A demonstrated knowledge of cutting edge recombinant protein expression technology is essential. The candidate must have a proven track record of strong leadership skills and the ability to develop a dynamic team environment. A documented ability to think broadly, and to develop, evaluate, and implement novel technologies is essential. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and oral/written communication skills, plus the ability to function in a dynamic, collaborative environment are required.
