Responsibilities
This position is to providing leadership and day-to-day administrative management of the research unit for the University's Cooperative Agriculture Research Center (CARC). Primary duties consist
of, but are not limited to, supervising the Research Scientists and Support Personnel; serving as lead program manager for Animal Systems research; providing day-to-day administrative and management
of work support for programs; designing, analyzing and interpreting research; planning, preparing and submitting proposals for funding; accomplishing progress reports, memos and information
circulation; presenting scientific meetings, workshops, seminars, producer gatherings; administrative meetings, conducting committee assignments, special projects, and administrative
control/management; coordinating projects; and developing collaborative relationships with external collaborators and partnerships.
Qualifications
The successful candidate must be knowledgeable of Statistical analysis software; have leadership skills, interpersonal relationships skills, and knowledge of human resources and fiscal management.
Doctoral degree plus Post Doc and/or DVM Certification
It is preferred that the incumbent have over 10 years of experience including post-doctoral training. This position should be able to show evidence of a progression of duties and responsibilities
during his/her experience to include managing technical and support personnel in an animal species (goats, beef cattle, swine, etc.) research program. Must show evidence of an increase
decision-making acumen as the person progressed in managerial responsibilities.
Ten or more years of progressive experience in research activity and administrative experience in a land-grant university environment.
Ph.D. in Animal Sciences, Biological Sciences or related discipline
