Education Requirements:

Ph.D. by date of appointment preferred.

Qualifications and Experience:

We welcome candidates with an interdisciplinary profile, including those with secondary interests in philosophy and intellectual history; media studies; gender and sexuality studies; postcolonial studies; and other fields germane to the study of German literature and culture around 1800. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute fully to the undergraduate program in German at UNC-Chapel Hill and the Carolina-Duke Graduate Program in German Studies. Native or near-native fluency in German and English required.
