The Clinical Research Liaison is a therapy area specific position responsible for developing long-term relationships with clinical investigators in Germany, enhancing
the image and reputation of the company and providing an interface between the company, the investigator and the service provider in outsourced global trials.
In this role you will build investigator and site staff awareness of Merck Serono in order to create the environment for successful clinical trials. You will develop
the knowledge of site capabilities and past performance to identify and nominate sites for global clinical trials, providing information and evidence to influence and support site selection. You will
maintain a regular connection with trial sites and potential sites and will be the relevant contact for global trial teams on country and site specific information in the therapy area Neurology. You
will make first contact with new sites nominated for global clinical trials and facilitate the interaction between service provider and site. You will provide a point of contact for the investigator
on general questions and issues related to the trial and service provider. You will further propose and implement solutions and/or escalate issues according to the agreed process. You will
participate in regular meetings with Business Units (BU) and Companies of the Merck Group (CMG) management in the country or region of operation to share the status of ongoing and planned studies,
discuss country or site specific issues, and agree plans for site nomination, solutions and actions alike. You will contribute to the distribution of information to Key Thought Leaders (KTL),
maintaining good KTL relationships and updating KTL database. You will work with sites in general to develop recruitment strategies and other best practices that will enhance their success as a trial
site. In addition, you will attend site initiation or monitoring visits as planned and agreed by the trial team and service provider. You will also attend and actively participate in investigator
meetings. You will work office-based in Darmstadt; travel may encompass up to 50% of your time.

Qualifications
You have a Medical or Life Sciences degree or an equivalent qualification and possess a minimum of 5 years professional experience in a clinical development environment (pharmaceutical or biotech
company or CRO). You dispose of strong knowledge and experience in the therapeutic area Neurology as well as thorough knowledge of ICH GCP and applicable local regulations. You are experienced
in working directly with clinical trial sites and investigators and are familiar with outsourced clinical trials. You are further proficient in working with international collaborators. You possess a
fundamental understanding of project management and operational performance measurement. Moreover, you have an excellent command of German and English, both oral and written.
