Postdoctoral position in pediatric affective neuroimaging at the Pediatric BRAIN Center, University of Illinois at Chicago

A postdoctoral position is available at the Pediatric BRAIN Center, Institute for Juvenile Research, University of Illinois at Chicago, to study brain mechanisms underlying affective and cognitive systems in children and adolescents with mood dysregulation and cognitive deficits. The position involves working with Dr. Mani Pavuluri, M.D. Ph.D., and her research team on conducting fMRI and neurocognitive studies, and developing new neuroimaging paradigms with a focus on affect and affect regulation.

We seek applicants who have or will soon receive a PhD in psychology, clinical psychology, or neuroscience and who have a strong background in fMRI and affective/cognitive neuroscience. Experience with fMRI studies, and familiarity with SPM or AFNI are required.  Statistical skills related to neuroscience research and a record of scientific publications are also required. Programming skills are a plus.  This position will start in Spring/Summer 2012 and involves a 2-year commitment.

Our research is a strong federally-funded program with outstanding research opportunities and direct access to pediatric psychiatric patients through our pediatric mood disorder clinic.
