Clinical/Counselling Psychologist
Band 7/8a Preceptorship
Based at Dorothy Pattison Hospital Walsall

We are looking to appoint a full-time Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join our Adult Mental Health Specialty. The team delivers high quality care to adults with severe and enduring mental health problems and it is an opportunity for you to develop your skills working in this area. Excellent communicating and team-working skills are essential as you will be providing input to one of our Community and Recovery Service teams as well as working with other members of a supportive Psychology and Psychological Therapies team.

The post holder will also be expected to undertake psychometric and psychological assessments and have a sound understanding of at least one evidence-based psychological therapy. There will also be an opportunity to co-facilitate a reflective practice group for junior Doctors.

Dudley and Walsall Psychology and Psychological Therapies Service is a multi-specialty service employing a range of applied psychologists; counsellors and a group trainer. The service promotes professional development and organises monthly clinical governance meetings where you will have an opportunity to present case studies or talks on your area of interest.

Newly qualified clinical/counselling psychologists are encouraged to apply as the post is established as a preceptorship post to allow professional development.
