In the screening world there is definitely no one-size-fits-all and there is also no dearth of options to choose from to address your screening needs. So how do you decide which screening strategy to use? What factors help determine the right choice of assay platform, cells and reagents? Can different screening techniques be utilized in tandem or be staggered to better validate the results and overcome individual shortcomings? Which screening strategy will provide information that is most relevant and physiologically significant to your biological query? It is quite evident that there is an unmet need that can be addressed by getting together the right thought leaders in the field to discuss the informational gaps and the resources that can be leveraged to bridge these shortcomings.

Cambridge Healthtech Institute's 10th Annual Functional Genomics Screening Strategies, which previously covered only RNA Interference (RNAi) Screening, now covers the use of chemical genomics tools, cDNA overexpression assays and the potential use of micro RNA (miRNA) and long non-coding RNAs for identifying and validating drug targets, exploring unknown cellular pathways, and for performing translational studies such as biomarker discovery, drug modifier screens and more. Hear from the experts in industry and academia on how they are leveraging the utility of these diverse screens for a wide range of applications.

Session topics will cover:
- Functional genomics application for diverse biological questions
- Challenges in assay design and development
- Choosing the right cell, library and reagents for your screening efforts
- Informatics tools for screening data analysis and hit nomination
- Dealing with off-target effects and false positives: towards hit prioritization
- Hit validation: a post-genomic era of challenges and tribulations
- A need for gold standards and data quality control

Conferences
<location>Boston, MA, USA</location>

http://www.researchgate.net/conference/10th_Functional_Genomics_Screening_Strategies/

http://www.researchgate.net/conference/10th_Functional_Genomics_Screening_Strategies/

10th International Conference on Advances in Steel Concrete Composite and Hybrid Structures (ASCCS 2012)

Jul 2, 2012 - Jul 4, 2012, Singapore
13 users following

10th International Conference on Advances in Steel Concrete Composite and Hybrid Structures (ASCCS 2012) is jointly organised by the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, National University of Singapore and the Singapore Structural Steel Society.

PHA has served as the center point of the PH community's progress toward new research and treatments, increased awareness and education for the people who live and work with this disease on a daily basis. In celebration of PHA's 10th International PH Conference and Scientific Sessions, we'll be returning to the state where our journey began over 20 years ago.

Celebrating this special 10th International PH Conference in Florida provides the PH community with the perfect opportunity to look back at the progress that has been made since our groundwork was first laid around that kitchen table for research, advocacy and education. While our PHamily - including patients, caregivers, researchers, physicians, nurses and everyone else who lives with, works with or knows about PH - has expanded greatly since 1990, we will always consider Florida as the heart and home of our organization thanks to what our four founders accomplished there.

Join us on this homecoming journey as we celebrate the history of our organization and the PH community. The success of SMT techniques depends on the development of both domain-specific decision procedures for each background theory (e.g., linear arithmetic, the theory of arrays, or the theory of bit-vectors) and combination methods that allow one to obtain more versatile SMT tools, usually leveraging Boolean satisfiability (SAT) solvers. These ingredients together make SMT techniques well-suited for use in larger automated reasoning and verification efforts.
