The neutrophil in immunity 2012

Jun 9, 2012 - Jun 12, 2012 · Québec, Canada

Aim and objective

This will be the first conference ever held that focuses solely on neutrophils and their important role in immunity. The goal of this symposium is to bring together basic and clinician scientists, graduate students and post-doctoral fellows as well as technicians and research assistants who perform research in neutrophil biology or related fields. Several aspects of the program will also be of interest to the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. It is becoming increasingly apparent that the neutrophil participates in various aspects of immunity and we find it timely to bring together experts in neutrophil biology and related fields to discuss recent discoveries, exchange ideas as well as novel avenues of future investigation in neutrophil biology.

The main topics of the symposium include neutrophil functions and beyond; receptors, signalling and soluble mediators; cell-cell interactions; and neutrophils in the clinic. Several talks will be selected from submitted poster abstracts, providing an opportunity for senior students and postdocs to showcase their work.

The meeting is accredited by the Society for Leukocyte Biology (SLB). We are very grateful to the SLB for their sponsoring the meeting as well.

Don’t miss the SLB session on the 9th June that will host the keynote note speaker of the meeting.
