Commercial Session


Following the previous highly successful symposia in this series — Rennes/FR (2001), Cork/IE (2004), San Francisco/US (2007) and Melbourne/AU (2009) — the forthcoming IDF/INRA International Symposium on Spray Dried Dairy Products is to be held in Saint-Malo/France from 19 to 21 June 2012.

For the very first time, the 2012 event is organized by INRA, the French National Institute for Agricultural Research — as research institution, in collaboration with IDF, the International Dairy Federation — as the inter- national dairy industry platform.

This event aims to bring together research and industry leaders to share ideas and information about new developments in two comple- mentary fields of science and technology – the manufacture of dairy powders and the functionality of these products as food ingredients.

The translation of research findings into industrial practice will also faci- litate the development of better modeling and control of spray drying processes and the application of new alternative technologies for the manufacture of dried dairy ingredients.

Après Rennes (France) en 2001, Cork (Irlande) en 2004, San Francisco (USA) en 2007 et Melbourne (Australie) en 2009, le prochain symposium international de « Séchage de produits laitiers par atomisation » (International Symposium on Spray Dried Dairy Products – SDDP2012) aura lieu à Saint-Malo (France) du 19 au 21 Juin 2012.

Pour la première fois, cet évènement est organisé conjointement par le laboratoire Science et technologie du lait et de l’œuf (STLO, Rennes, France) de l’INRA (Institut national de la recherche agronomique) et par la Fédération internationale de laiterie (FIL Internationale, Bruxelles et FIL France, Paris). Notre symposium vise à rassembler les leaders de la recherche et de l'industrie pour échanger connaissances et idées sur de nouvelles avancées dans deux domaines complémentaires de la science et la technologie : la fabrication des poudres laitières et leurs fonctionnalités.

Les présentations de résultats scientifiques aux travers d’échanges doivent permettre de valoriser, d’améliorer, de développer et de compren- dre le séchage par atomisation de manière à mieux contrôler et modéliser les différents produits et procédés mis en œuvre. Une ouverture sur l’application de nouvelles technologies alternatives pour la fabrication d'ingrédients laitiers secs est également recherchée.
